Hello fellow visionaries,
Firstly, I should introduce myself.
The Reverend Catmandoo, that is my Steampunk persona and you will find Catmandoo in other places on the web as well.
Many thanks to Prof. Galvin for the invite to visit here, it is a wonderful place, I look forward to seeing it evolve and grow into it's own kind of monster.
By trade I am a diesel engine technician, working for the local Caterpillar dealership. I enjoy a good challenge and problem solving and I get a lot of that working on the yellow iron. I also enjoy creating and inventing, though most of my projects serve little more purpose than to amuse me.
I live in a part of the United States that was Indian Territory during the time period usually associated with Steampunk. The Rev. lives in the territory and like me can trace his ancestry to the Dawes commission roles of the Five Civilized Tribes . The roles were used by the American goverment to separate the "real" indians from the rest of US society.
The Rev. is part carpet bagger, occasionally dabbles in gunrunning, gambling, He is a bit of a womanizer and enjoys a taste of good whiskey from time to time. He has been shot at by jealous husbands and the occasional female acquaintance, chased by the local sherrif more than once and has been bitten by a dog or two during a speedy exit out the window ! The Rev. can preach up a storm in whatever religion flavors the local waters and that has saved his well deserving, snake oil selling neck from the wrong end of a rope. After all, what upright, God fearing citizen would hang a man of the cloth ? It is simply not done !
The S.T.E.A.M. Machine
Superior Technology for Enrichment and Aether Management
My current project is a device to combine the element plasma ( is it an element ? I am not really sure ) with the very Aether that surrounds us all. Plasma is quite inconvenient to work with, damned hard to get along with, but this machine should solve that issue. The S.T.E.A.M. machine uses the new fangled electricity to wrap three molecules of Aether around one of plasma. This results in a much easier to deal with energy source.
I can't take full credit for the design, I did not create the concept, rather I am attempting to refine an already existing theory. There is a gentleman who uses the pen name of K-9 that created the article that inspired me to attempt this possible folly, follow this link if you wish and see the wonderful work that he has done, it's veritable art.

My project is off and running, like a herd of turtles. The NDN Arms R&D division has enlisted the help of the esteemed Prof. Boris van Galvin and the good Prof. has brought to the table a completely new level of technology as well as a thinking outside the box mentality that is refreshing. Here are some photographs of the basic design, showing the plasma chamber, the insulated supports and the cooling tubes. There is a photo of some loose parts that will be incorporated into the final design. The unit will sit on a wooden box enclosure that helps with the insulating required as well as provides a place to put the inner workings.
This device will be used to charge a prototype rifle that is still on the drawing board. The rifle tenatively will be equipped with the NDN S.A.R.G. system, Supplemental Armament Recoiless Grenade, a versatile system that can fire a variety of projectiles. This will result in a weapon with a wide variety of applications from civilian to military.
I thank you all for letting me share in this exquisite thing that you call Evil Genius and I leave you with this :
Barkeep, whiskey and cigars all around and keep the glasses full

Thank you Gentlemen. K-9 Thanks for the inspiration and the various parts that you have contributed. Prof. Galvin you're support will prove to be invaluable to the success of this project as well.
It is off to the laboratory with my minions in tow, we will be finishing the jig for the construction of the main housing.

I am proud (relieved) to announce that after much over thinking and several less than suitable jig attemps that I have met with success. I have arrived at a simple sliding fence that works very well. One moving part, who would have thunk it? OK the router bit moves as well but it remains stationary while it does it.
The main enclosure will be completed soon and much progress will follow at a hopefully accellerated pace.
